|Eureka!! I finally tracked down the Spencer!!!
I can't find the patent, if there was one, for these illustrated motors in the 1914 Maclean's. The version on the right appeared in the April and May issues.
The company advertizes in 1913 and 1914 Maclean's Magazine. The ads are written with a distinctive voice!
"Made in Canada, by Canadians, for Canadian conditions - therefore practical."
A later, totally unrelated motor was patented by Spencer in 1920. It is a stick motor. Click here for patent drawings and PDFs.
